Annual Doctor’s Day Celebration

Impact, Evolution & Support

Despite the many challenges presented by 2021, The Friends remained dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of Einstein’s patients, employees, community members, and each other.

The Friends were able to support Fresh For All by volunteering their time to provide our community with much-needed access to fresh produce. Reusable water bottles, Gun Violence Awareness T-Shirts, Long Term Structured Residence needs, and employee wellness projects were funded by The Friends to show their appreciation for our healthcare heroes. The annual Flowers From Friends event where volunteers deliver flowers to patients throughout the network warmed the hearts of those in the hospital.

The newly created podcast, Relatively Speaking, Between Friends, hosted by Friends President, Shannon Czincila and Vice President of NextGen Jamie Lewin attracted listeners from the United States, Canada, and Myanmar!

The Friends of Einstein’s Facebook group helped members stay connected and find ways to get involved with projects they are passionate about.

The Friends of Einstein Throughout the Year

The Friends of Einstein Montgomery’s Annual Basket Raffle raised over $12,000 to support projects that benefit our patients and employees. This year, they helped support the addition of two new recliners in the Employee Restoration Room.

This year, The Friends of Einstein Montgomery raised over $62,000 to increase breast cancer awareness, provide critical funds for new therapies, advanced diagnostics, and support services for our community. The Friends helped organize over 200 walkers and runners!

The Friends of Jefferson Einstein's Breast Cancer Advocacy Group (BCAG) Fall Event was a fantastic evening in support of breast cancer programming and patient needs across Einstein Healthcare Network. The Friends and their guests gathered outside at Curds N’ Whey in Jenkintown to hear two of Einstein’s top breast cancer surgeons, Lisa Jablon, MD and Archit Naik, MD, speak about the long history of breast cancer care at Einstein and the incredible advancements that have been made in recent years. An event highlight was welcoming retired Chairman of Surgery, Dr. Bobby Somers, who performed the first breast-conserving surgery in the Philadelphia area in 1980.

Einstein, in collaboration with Philabundance, is working to provide those in our community with access to free fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. Every year The Friends of Einstein Healthcare Network come together to help distribute food and supplies to the community. It is a great way of directly helping our communities.

The Friends raised over $620,000!

Funds raised by the 69th Annual Harvest Ball will benefit Einstein Healthcare Network’s lifesaving trauma and emergency care. At Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, the construction of a new helipad will allow for the immediate transport of critically injured patients in need of specialized care. At Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia’s accredited Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, funds will provide for expansion and enhancement of the existing trauma suite to facilitate delivery of life-saving care to the almost 2,000 critically injured patients treated each year.

In celebration of Einstein Week, The Friends of Einstein supported the distribution of reusable water bottles to all of Einstein’s Health Care Heroes. The inspiration for this token of gratitude came from the 2020 Virtual Harvest Ball which benefitted employee-specific programs such as a new water filtration system.
