The Berton & Sallie Korman Family Prize

The Korman Family has long been rooted in the mission of supporting others throughout the Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital community and since its earliest days, Jefferson Einstein Hospital has been the beneficiary of the family’s care and attention helping to advance our mission of delivering healthcare to as many as we can reach.

The late Berton (Bert) E. Korman, Jefferson Einstein Hospital Emeritus Board Member, and his wife Sallie, were particularly devoted to medical teaching, research, and community health. As the third generations of Korman’s to carry on the family tradition, they took very seriously the stewardship of the family legacy and the support of clinical excellence.

This prestigious prize will be awarded to Jefferson Einstein Hospital healthcare professionals who have distinguished themselves through their outstanding endeavors benefitting Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital and who represent excellence in the delivery of healthcare that benefits the Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital community. A healthcare professional, for purposes of The Berton and Sallie Korman Family Prize includes any full time or part time employee or Medical Staff member of Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital or Jefferson Einstein Physicians Montgomery who is engaged in actions whose primary intent (or focus) is to enhance health.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations/applications must describe how the nominee meets the criteria and show examples of the nominee living the values that are shared by Jefferson Einstein and the Berton and Sallie Korman Family
  • You may nominate a colleague
  • Nomination must include up to a 1250-word response providing specific examples of how the nominee has met criteria and exceed expectations
  • Application must be typewritten and submitted online to Jessie.Sargent@jefferson.edu
  • Application is due by September 30, 2023
