Oasis Room
ANGIE
NURSE MANAGER
With our Albert Einstein Society grant, we created an oasis room where behavioral health patients in the Crisis Response Center can feel more relaxed and calm.
It’s a space dedicated to improving patient resiliency through alternative therapies like weighted blankets, aromatherapy, focused breathing techniques, massaging recliners, and guided meditations. We teach patients, one-on-one, how to identify what works for them.
One year after creating the oasis room, the number of patient restraint incidents had fallen from 30 per month to 5. And, our staff feels less afraid of violent outbursts from patients. It’s amazing.
Together, donors and grantees like us are making a difference. We are Einstein.
