Prepared Parents

Each year about 1,200 parents seek healthcare services for their newborn babies at the Pediatric and Adolescent Ambulatory Center (PAAC). Most are born at Einstein, live in our community, and experience high poverty rates, food insecurity, crime, and illiteracy.

Healthy parents have healthier babies. That’s why we started the CenteringParenting program, where mothers learn parenting skills, participate in group discussions, and develop a support network with other mothers during the first year of their child’s life.

With an Albert Einstein Society grant, we were able to buy supplies and new computers, secure a meeting site, and train our staff. It gave us a jump-start so we could get up and running very quickly. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without the Albert Einstein Society’s help.

Together, donors and grantees like us are making a difference. We are Einstein.
